Sample Detoxification Program

           Detox Program (AFTER Amalgam Removal)


If you are currently not detoxifying your body from its mercury burden through a physician of your choice, below is a suggested program developed by James E. Hardy, D.M.D. (Health Centered Dentistry www.mercury-free.com)

Note: If you have a medical condition or are taking medications or supplements that may be affected by this program, consult your physician before beginning.

Start this program on the day your last amalgam filling has been removed

Week 1:   Each day, take the following vitamins and minerals.
                  Take vitamins and minerals separately (at least 2 hours apart) to maximize results.
4,000 IU of Vitamin A
25 (women), 35 (men) mcg/ Chromium
2000 mg of Vitamin C (in divided doses)
12-30 mg Zinc
2.5 – 5 mg Manganese
350 mg Magnesium





Week 2:    Same as Week 1 but reduce Vitamin C to 1500 mg/day
Week 3:    Same as Week 1 but reduce Vitamin C to 1000 mg/day
Week 4:    Same as Week 1 but reduce Vitamin C to 500 mg/day

Week 5:    You can either stop the program and continue your normal vitamin supplementation or you can continue for another month as it is fairly gentle.

Additional useful Detoxification Goodies

Supplement your detoxification with foods and other substances high in sulfur (mercury is pulled out of its hiding places by sulfur) and antioxidants.

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) Start with 1000 mg but can take more for a quicker Detox if tolerable.
*Activated charcoal must be used with caution because it binds to everything including any supplements or medications you may be taking.

Additional Tips: If you are in excellent health, a good way to rid the body of mercury is in the steam room or sauna. It is recommended that you reduce your intake of sugar, carbonated beverages, caffeine, tobacco, alcohol and excessive dairy products.
